In a world that’s constantly buzzing—notifications, noise, conversations, responsibilities—it’s easy to overlook the silent struggles so many people face every day. On the surface, everything can look fine. But inside, it can be a very different story.

That’s why I’m taking part in a small 2x2m space, completely in silence, for 20 hours. No talking. No phone. No distractions.

why anyone would choose to do this. The truth is, this challenge mirrors something deeply real: the isolation, stillness, and disconnection that many young people experience when they’re battling mental health issues. It’s a symbolic act, but it’s also deeply personal.

Mental health challenges don’t always look like what we imagine. Sometimes they’re quiet. They show up in the pauses, the withdrawal, the lack of words. I’ve witnessed this in people I love, and I’ve felt it in myself too. That’s why this matters to me—not just as a fundraiser, but as a moment to reflect, to empathise and to raise my voice (ironically, by being silent) for something I believe in.

The target is to raise a minimum of $1,000, and while I know times are tough and every dollar counts, even the smallest donation helps.

I am nervous, Sitting still with no distractions for that long? It’s going to be intense. But it’s also going to be meaningful. And I’m doing it with purpose.
