My Why
Suicide is the leading cause of death for Australians aged 15 to 44.
That statistic has rattled my brain for as long as I can remember — the idea that the greatest threat to young people’s safety comes from within their own minds.
My personal battle with mental health began like many others: in school. Feelings of inadequacy and self-loathing started to creep in as soon as I learned to compare myself to others.
“I’m not smart enough, not beautiful enough, not confident enough.”
This internal monologue has echoed in my mind ever since, quietly chipping away at my joy and making each moment harder than it needs to be.
I consider myself lucky to still be here. Without the support of my family, friends, and mental health professionals, I truly believe I might have lost the battle in my head.
But many others aren’t as fortunate. Whether due to isolation, stigma, or lack of financial access, help isn’t always available — and that needs to change.
That’s why I’m partnering with 20Talk, to raise funds for young people to access the mental health support they deserve.
If you're able, please join me in supporting this crucial cause. Together, we can help protect our young people from their greatest challenge — and show them they’re never alone.
