About me!

Hey Friends, I’m Ange and on the 29.03.2025 I’m completing 20 hours for 20Talk :)

That’s 20 hours in a 2x2 metre square with no doom scrolling and no chitchat!

It’s a long time to sit with your thoughts but I’m doing it for a good cause. I’m aiming to raise $1000 for 20Talk to help them continue to do the amazing stuff they do, like breaking the stigma and educating people on all things mental health in a relatable way to thousands of Aussies!

Everyone has a story when it comes to mental health, including myself. I’ve lost a couple people to suicide and have seen the impact it has on not just myself but family, friends and the greater community. So after working through some battles, I’ve been on a mission to educate myself and others on how to deal with the ups and downs of life!

Through my journey I found 20Talk, a charity I could connect with that shared real, well studied information around all aspects of mental health and suicide prevention. I was fortunate enough to complete a Mental Health Maintenance Session. I loved it that much, and really believed what they were sharing needed to be heard, so I joined them in facilitating some sessions in 2024.

Now I’m back as a participant to help spread the word and hopefully raise some funds for a truely incredible cause!

Unfortunately, there’s a fair bit of underfunding in suicide prevention, 80% of the population is supported by 2% of mental health prevention funding. If more funding went into preventing and educating before people were reaching crises it would save lives and save friends, families and communities from the effects of losing someone to suicide.

So if you have some spare change myself, 20Talk and the greater community would love if you could donate to provide more opportunities to educate young Aussies about different mental health skills when juggling life. And most importantly how to speak up when times are tough. Let’s break the stigma together!
