This Isn’t Just Mental Health - It’s a Crisis of Connection

Lately, I’ve been feeling everything.

Every cry behind a smile. Every numb stare. Every heavy silence.

People I care deeply for are quietly battling storms no one can see.

Some are holding on by threads.

Some are growing up in environments that are wiring their nervous systems for survival instead of safety.

Some are trapped in systems that keep failing them.

And others… are just trying to stay here.

We are living through a mental health pandemic but the world still doesn’t see the root.

It doesn’t begin in adulthood. It doesn’t begin with a diagnosis or a breakdown.

It begins in childhood.

In the moments we weren’t soothed.

In the emotions we were taught to bury.

In the confusion of feeling too much and being told to feel less.

In the kids who never learned how to come back to themselves because no one ever showed them how.

I’m walking for all of them.

For the people I love who are carrying more than they can speak.

For the families torn apart by silence.

For the children already absorbing the weight of what should never be theirs.

And for the little girl in me who never truly felt safe who is still unlearning fear, still finding her voice, and still choosing to believe in healing.

Because the truth is… I feel it all.

And sometimes it’s unbearable to care this much, to see this clearly, to hold so many stories in my heart.

But I refuse to go numb. I refuse to pretend it’s not happening.

That’s why I’m walking for 20Talk.

Because I believe in early intervention.

In emotional education.

In creating a world where we catch people before they fall.
