Hello!
I’m participating in the 20 Hours for 20Talk Challenge to raise awareness and funds for youth mental health. For 20 hours, I’ll be sitting silently within a 2-metre square, reflecting on the journey that has shaped who I am and the resilience it takes to keep going when life feels uncertain.
This challenge means so much to me. I’ve spent most of my life as a refugee in the United Kingdom. Growing up, “home” was never one place, it was wherever my family could find safety, hope, and a chance to start again. Life as a refugee isn’t just about surviving; it’s about constantly rebuilding yourself while holding on to the belief that tomorrow can be better.
I’m doing this for my brother, who continues to chase his dreams in London despite every obstacle life has thrown his way. I’m doing it for my sister, who’s bravely opening her own café in Manchester, turning her dreams into something real and beautiful. And I’m doing it for all the refugees out there who have ever felt like they don’t belong anywhere, who have fought through silence and uncertainty to build a sense of home within themselves.
Through this 20 hours of silence, I want to honour every journey of resilience, mine, my siblings’, my parents, and the countless others who keep moving forward no matter how heavy life gets. I also want to help make sure that young people facing mental health struggles never feel alone in their silence.
FAWElements Supplies is happy to support any help for the youth. ❤️ Great Work
