My Why
As I reflected on my why in the sense of world suffering and the heaviness of all of the happenings across the globe today, I was reminded of every single situation closer to home.I’ve witnessed the effects of negative mental health patterns in family, friends, ex-partners, patients and children I’ve cared for, clients, customers and people who I’ve crossed paths with one way or another. One of my ex-partners passed away, and so I’ve really seen and experienced what it can do first hand.
Personally, I’ve pulled myself out of some extremely challenging places too, with gratitude and an unwavering sense of hope to keep me going.
Every day I see posters with big, bold writing, exclaiming “It’s okay not to be okay.” Which of course, it is - yet my heart can’t help but break at why such a large population of the world are really not okay. How did we get here as a human race?
The systems built on foundations of ego and deep rooted fear have failed us. The importance of going within, of sitting with yourself in your own energy to really try to understand and heal with deep compassion, is where true change begins. It’s not easy but it’s worth it - it’s through the self that we find selflessness.
We’re here now with the ability to take action and make a difference; we’re the ancestors of those to come. Choices we make in the present allow us to rewrite the narratives of the past and shape the future.
Dropping into the heart space and allowing the heart to re’mind’ the mind, enables us to remember how connected we all are under the surface. Much like the root system of trees and the mycelium network underneath our feet; even the constellations in the sky and storytelling around the fire that our ancestors lived by. When we remember authentic connection, when love is ignited within the cells of our being, we remember that we’re not alone in this big mystery of life. Connection is everything!
We all deserve to feel the abundant source of love energy in our life. It’s our birthright that stems from the utter miracle of existence. Everyone deserves a chance at finding and experiencing their version of ultimate joy, and to truly know in their heart that it can exist within them - that’s my why.
As the owner of a holistic wellness studio, a guide for all things meditation, yoga & Reiki, my life’s purpose is dedicated to making the world a brighter place. Through experiencing the world in a state of deep, consistent compassion, it’s truly such an expansive feeling beyond words. This feeling drives action motivated by nothing but love - for all sorts of beings and this beautiful Earth.
So, if I can awaken the remembrance of love in even just one person a day then that purpose is fulfilled. To take part in this space and take an active step toward raising awareness as well as funds, alongside others who are equally as passionate, is an honour!
