At 9 years old, my mum was one of these. A mother to two beautiful daughters and a wife to a loving husband.
A devastating act that has impacted my life so profoundly. My children have never got to meet their angel Nonna and I have had to experience so many of life's tests and triumphs without her, including my own battles with mental health.
I truly believe better mental health starts with education, and as a high school teacher to young people, I know just how important and current this issue is for our teens especially today. I have seen it and felt it in my own classroom for years, and I feel the situation is only worsening.
