Hey Family & Friends 🧡

Early hours on the 16th September, I’ll be stepping into a 2m² space inside a warehouse with nothing but a chair, sleeping bag, journal, and pen.Â
No phone. No conversation. No distractions. Just 20 hours of complete silence.
(I know what you’re thinking: me being quiet for that long!?)
My little mission:
These 20 Hours for 20Talk is a chance to slow down and reflect. It’s a way to stay connected to what really matters—showing up, listening, and supporting the people around me. Mental health challenges are something I still see close-up, in loved ones who face them every day. Being there for them, in small consistent ways, continues to shape how I move through the world. This experience is a reminder of that commitment.
Â
And why am I doing this?
We have all been touched, in some way or another, by the reality of mental health. It can be dark, isolating and confronting.
🧡My first experience with this was at 19, when my friend Chris took his own life. We as a friendship group were out with him the night before. This has stayed with me, shaping how I understand mental health and the need for safe, supportive spaces—someone to simply hear you in your adolescent life.Â
🧡Another reason lies close to home: My Father is a retired farmer—and my hero. Growing up, I saw his work ethic, his quiet resilience and his strength. Being raised around farming gave me a deep respect for the land and for the people who care for it. What I didn’t see then were the hidden struggles—loneliness, financial pressure and emotional strain our farmers face. They are the ones who keep us all going, and they deserve to be seen, supported, and valued. This is to support our next farming generation.Â
The statistics are still alarming in the farming industry and on average, one Australian farmer dies by suicide every 10 days.
🧡For my loved ones who faced and face the weight of anxiety: Watching their struggle has been tough— and yet not always knowing how to ease it but I could show up, listen without judgment and hold space when words fell short. Because even in silence, love speaks loudly.
How are you helping?
Your donation—no matter the size—helps 20Talk run real, relatable mental health campaigns.
They’re a youth-led charity created in Perth making mental health education accessible, engaging, and stigma-free.
In 2023, 298 young Australians aged 18–24 died by suicide. That number is heartbreaking.
This challenge offers a small glimpse into what it’s like to live with mental ill-health. We’re more connected than ever, yet young people have never felt more anxious, more lost, or more alone.
Just $200 funds a one-day Mental Health Maintenance course for a young adult aged 18–30—giving them practical skills to face life’s challenges.
Every $10 will make a difference.
Big hug, and thanks so much!

What a fantastic cause! Congratulations on finding such a tangible way to engage with mental health education - that can be hard to do.
