Changing the Trajectory: Why I’m Taking on the 20Hours for 20Talk Challenge
Something has to change.
Right now, youth mental health is in crisis and the numbers tell a heartbreaking story. Too many young people are struggling in silence, feeling lost in a world that moves too fast, expects too much, and rarely stops to listen.
That’s why I’m taking on the 20Hours for 20Talk Challenge—spending 20 hours in a 2x2 square meter space without technology or distractions. It’s a small act, but it represents something much bigger: the need to pause, reflect, and acknowledge that we must shift our focus from crisis response to prevention.
Currently, 98% of mental health funding goes toward crisis intervention, leaving only 2% for prevention. But what if we could reach young people before they reach a breaking point? What if mental health conversations were as normal as talking about physical health? What if every young person had the tools they needed to navigate life’s ups and downs?
20Talk is making this happen. Founded by young people, for young people, they are changing the way we talk about and support mental health—making it real, relatable, and accessible. I believe in their mission, and I’m stepping into this challenge to help drive change.
This isn’t just a fundraiser—it’s a movement. A movement toward early intervention, open conversations, and a future where no young person feels alone.
Please consider supporting this cause. Together, we can change the trajectory. 💙
