Why I’m Participating in 20Hours for 20Talk
As many of you are aware and for those that aren’t, mental ill health is a journey I’ve experienced and now am extremely passionate about. Working in the space of mental health has introduced me to so many amazing people and has given me the opportunity to educate young people on how to help themselves and their friends who are experiencing mental ill health. 20Talk is an awesome organisation that focuses on prevention of mental ill health through education.
By not talking for 20 hours despite being surrounded by others and raising funds for this organisation, I hope to bring awareness to all the voices that aren’t in a place to speak out about what they are going through and the many lives we have lost to suicide. As suicide remains the leading cause of death in young people.
