💛 Why I’m Choosing Silence for Mental Health 💛

On September 6th, I’ll be doing something a little unusual - sitting in complete silence for 20 hours. No talking, no music, no screens. Just me, my thoughts, and the space to reflect.

Why? Because silence speaks volumes.

This isn’t just a personal challenge it’s part of a powerful initiative by 20Talk, a grassroots organisation that supports young people with real, raw, and relatable mental health education. They’re breaking the stigma, one conversation at a time and I want to help them do that.

The irony of silence is that it’s making a statement

In a world that moves fast and talks loud, we often miss the quiet cries for help including our own and others’. Sitting in silence is a symbol of what too many people face every day: isolation, overwhelm, and the feeling that they can’t speak up. By staying silent for 20 hours, I hope to honour those who have felt voiceless and help give them a platform.

Mental health matters more than ever

We all know someone who’s struggled - maybe it’s a friend, a family member, or maybe it’s you. I’ve seen how important it is to have spaces where people feel safe, seen, and supported. And 20Talk is doing incredible work to make that happen in our communities.

My goal: Raise $1,000 to support 20Talk’s mission
