Touched by suicide
As someone who lost my dad to suicide at a very young age, I understand how suicide can impact the family and loved ones of them left behind, but in doing this challenge I want to gain a great understanding and compassion for what my dad would have felt like beforehand.As someone left behind it not only affects you in the immediate moment, but it changes your beliefs, your inner narratives, your thoughts and your choices. This great loss and ongoing challenge is something I wish no other child would ever have to go through. I want to make an impact on suicide prevention for not just those affected by mental health struggles but also for those potentially left behind after the fact.
In my roles as a yoga teacher, health club coordinator, mother, mind body practitioner, coach, friend, partner, daughter, I strive to make a positive impact on my community’s health and wellbeing across all 5 pillars of health with connection being one of the most overlooked. This feels very aligned with what 20talk are doing.
I also endeavour on this adventure for the personal development and experience that I can bring to my mission of empower people to create their own realities within their health and well-being.
