For The Silent Battles We Don't See
As some of you may know, I went through an extremely challenging period of debilitating anxiety a few years ago. I managed it in the best way I knew how at the time and after reaching rock bottom I began the process of rebuilding. What followed was a deeply transformative journey of growth, resilience and healing.
On September 6th I will be taking part in the 20 hours for 20Talk Challenge. @20hoursfor20talk. Sitting in a 2x2m space for 20 hours with no tech, no distractions, being uncontactable. Just me, a journal and my mind.
Supporting mental health is a cause that sits close to my heart. Many of us have coped with mental illness in ways we struggle to explain after the fact - surviving in silence, in chaos, in overdrive.
During this
challenge I will be anchoring myself in gratitude.
I choose rest. I choose alignment. I choose boundaries. I choose to work on
my terms. I choose a regulated nervous system. I choose joy, presence, and a
life I truly want to live.
Im doing this because I know what it is like to be in a bad place mentally. I was lucky enough to get the help I needed to pull myself out.
Now I can say that I move from self-respect, not shame. I’ve proven to myself just how capable I am.. and that is a gift I want to help give to others.
Because I
still remember what it felt like.
And I know many people are still living there.
Some with support. Some without.
This
challenge is for them.
For those still in it.
For those fighting silent battles.
For anyone who needs a reminder that healing is possible.

Best wishes to you Michelle. So many people are struggling with mental health. Your courage in speaking openly and honestly will help others who are struggling and not ready to seek support. Knowing others have come through the experience will give hope to those people who need it the most.
