It's a bit personal.....
I'm 47, an accountant, i do pole dancing (love it!) and I'm the proud mum of 2 very precious souls!! Divorced from an abusive marriage, their father passed 2 years ago. At the time my girl was asked by the psychologist if she had any thoughts of self-harm...she was 11... and she said YES! It rocked my world that I didn't know, and I couldn't help her. I lost my father to suicide at a similar age, and it felt like a curse repeated for her. I got her the help that she needed.Why??
There have been many events in my life that have impacted my mental health with minimal support and understanding for most of it. Im acutely aware of the impacts of more recent events on my children's mental health. I believe any increase in awareness and acceptance of the impacts of events on mental health to be a positive thing for society.Rasing awareness, removing the stigma!
