20 Hours for 20Talk – Why This Matters To Me
One of the biggest challenges we face in today’s society is our overwhelming dependence on the digital world. Text messages, phone calls, social media, emails, Teams notifications and Zoom calls constantly pull us in every direction, making it increasingly difficult to truly switch off.
For me, this constant noise can become overwhelming. There have been times where it has impacted my ability to care for myself properly and has contributed to feelings of anxiety and emotional exhaustion. Learning to slow down, disconnect and prioritise my wellbeing hasn’t always been easy - but it has been necessary.
That’s why I’m proud to be taking part in the 20 Hours for 20Talk challenge on 6 December in Melbourne. This initiative is more than just a personal goal; it’s about promoting meaningful conversations around mental health and showing my son that prioritising self-care, vulnerability and emotional wellbeing is not a weakness, but a strength.
By participating, I’m committing to creating space for reflection, presence and genuine connection - both for myself and for those around me.
If you’re able to support this cause, whether through a donation or simply by sharing this message, you’ll be helping raise vital funds and awareness for mental health support services that truly make a difference.
