I'm taking on a challenge to raise funds for 20Talk, a mental health charity making a real difference.
For 20 hours, I’ll be sitting in a 2-metre square box—no technology, no talking. Just me, a journal, a chair, and my thoughts.
Why? Because struggling with mental health can feel exactly like that—isolated, silent, and overwhelming. Many people don’t know where to begin or how to reach out.
We’ve all been touched by mental health in some way. It can be dark, lonely, and confronting. And the statistics are still alarming:
Suicide remains the leading cause of death for young people aged 15–44.
Only 2% of mental health funding goes toward prevention (Mental Health Commission, 2022).
I’m doing 20 Hours for 20Talk to help change that. Your support will fund 20Talk’s relatable, youth-led prevention campaigns—making mental health education cool, accessible, and effective.
Here’s how your donation helps:
$300 funds a young person’s spot in a Mental Health First Aid course.
Supports 20Talk’s growing online community of 60,000+.
Helps run large-scale interactive events that break stigma and build resilience.
Together, we can improve mental health literacy, reduce stigma, and encourage help-seeking—before crisis hits.
I hope to write a song whilst in my 2-meter square. If you help me reach $1000 in donations, I’ll share with you the music that emerges from this experience.
Thank you for reading, donating, and supporting this cause. If you ever need to talk, I’m always here.
With gratitude,
Sebastien
