We Did It!
I honestly don’t have the words—just so much gratitude.
In less than 24 hours, we reached the donation goal for my 20Talk challenge. Your support, kindness, and generosity have left me speechless (and that’s before I even begin the 20 hours of silence 😂).
Whether you donated, shared the link, or sent love my way—thank you.
You’ve helped raise awareness for mental health, and together, we’re reminding people they’re not alone.
This isn’t just about fundraising. It’s about breaking the silence, starting conversations, and creating change.
From the bottom of my heart—thank you. 🫶
20 Hours for 20Talk Challenge - Youth Mental Health Awareness
Hi, I’m Stacey, and this year I’m doing something a little outside my comfort zone.
For 20 hours, I’ll be sitting in a 2 metre square box with no phone, no talking, and no distractions — just me, a journal, and my thoughts.
Why?
Because I want to start a conversation about something that’s often kept quiet: mental health.
This challenge, created by the incredible youth-led charity 20Talk, is designed to reflect what struggling with your mental health can feel. Isolating, overwhelming, and invisible to the outside world, and for me, it hits close to home.
Like many others, I’ve experienced what it’s like to carry the weight of anxiety while still trying to show up for life. I’ve smiled through racing thoughts, laughed while feeling numb, and pushed through days that felt heavier than they looked.
It’s easy to feel alone in that.
But I’ve learned that so many of us are quietly carrying something, and we don’t talk about it nearly enough.
This challenge is my way of saying I see you, and you’re not alone.
If this helps even one person feel more understood, more supported, or more open to reaching out, then it’s already worth it.
Why it matters?
Mental health isn’t just personal. It’s a community issue.
And the numbers are hard to ignore:
- Suicide is still the leading cause of death for Australians aged 15 to 44
- Yet only 2 percent of mental health funding goes toward prevention
20Talk is changing that. They’re creating safe spaces, relatable content, and education that speaks directly to young people, making help feel approachable and real.
Your support can help fund:
- Mental Health First Aid training for youth
- Expanding free resources and peer-led initiatives
- Large-scale events that inspire honest conversations and connection
If you’re in a place to donate, even a small amount can go a long way.
And if you’re not right now, sharing this message might be the very thing someone else needs to see.
I’m doing this for the version of me who needed to know she wasn’t weak, just human. For anyone sitting silently with their struggle, and for all the people still learning how to ask for help.
Let’s keep talking. Let’s keep showing up for each other.
Because no one should have to go through it alone.
Thank you for being here.
With love,
Stacey

Definitely a worthy cause - with cost of living pressures and information overload the world has become a tough place for adults to navigate, spare a thought for our youth coming fresh into this situation.
