In a World Full of Noise, I'm Choosing Silence — for Them
In order to raise funds for mental health charity 20Talk, I’ll be spending 20 hours in complete silence, confined to a 2x2 metre space.
No interaction. No technology. No distractions. Just me, a pen, and a journal.
It might sound simple—but in today’s world, silence is rare. Especially for young people constantly bombarded by social media, likes, and unrealistic expectations. The pressure to be perfect. The fear of not being enough. The constant comparison. It’s exhausting—and it’s hurting their mental health.
As a parent, I’ve seen how this affects my own children. So I’m doing this for them—and for every person who feels the weight of the world on their shoulders. It can be dark, lonely, and confronting.
20 hours. A silent stand to raise funds, awareness, and hope—because our youth shouldn’t suffer in silence.
