Why I’m committing 20 Hours for 20Talk
I have made the decision to use 20 hours of my time to support 20Talk and their mission to open the conversation around mental health, especially for young people like me.
When i saw this opportunity come up i knew i had to take it, I am intrigued by the idea of actually sitting with myself and letting all these unwanted feelings or fears come up so i can work with them and not against them.
I know I'm not alone when it comes to struggling with mental health but sometimes it can feel that way.
This isn’t just about me, and trying to help heal my past. It’s about showing up for something that matters. Mental health affects everyone at some point in their lives, but it's still something many of us struggle to talk about. Through this experience, I want to challenge that. I want to be part of normalising these tough conversations, by showing others that it's okay to not be okay.
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be dedicating my time to things that raise awareness, and support those who might be going through rough times. Whether it's through starting conversations, or just being there for my friends, every hour will count toward something bigger, something that will make a difference.
I’m excited to see where this journey takes me but more than anything, I’m proud to be stepping up for something I do believe in. And showing support for something that truly matters
