20 Hours of Silence for Youth Mental Health.
So I'm giving this a go…😅💛.
This December I'm taking on the **20 Hours for 20Talk** challenge with my uni group/friends, and I'd love your support to help me raise $1,000 for youth mental health.
**What's the challenge?**
I'll join around 400 people in Port Melbourne for 20 hours of silence. From 4am until midnight I'll stay in a 2x2 metre taped square with no phone, no books, no talking and no clock (just a gong every hour). It will be me, my journal and my thoughts for the whole day.
**why this matters to me**
Working in special education while studying to become a teacher has shown me how important mental health and wellbeing are to a young persons ability to learn, connect and thrive. It’s also made me realise how valuable it is to have conversations and tools around mental health before things reach breaking point.
I’m also really grateful to be doing this alongside my uni group. We’re all working towards becoming teachers, so this cause feels especially close to home.
**About 20Talk**
20Talk is a mental health charity working with young adults aged 18–30. They run free mental health training courses and share relatable online education with an audience of over 60,000 people. Their focus is prevention, giving young people practical skills before things get hard.
**Where your donation goes**
- $200 puts a young adult through a one-day Mental Health Maintenance course
- $1,000 helps 20Talk reach 80,000 people online with a targeted campaign
Every donation, big or small, gets me closer to my goal. If you can't donate right now, sharing this page helps heaps too.
Thank you so much for reading and for supporting me.
