I AM HERE TAKING THE 20HOUR CHALLENGE AGAIN READY TO BE STILL, TO BE SILENT WITH MYSELF & VULNERABLE FOR THOSE WHO HAVE/CONTINUE TO STRUGGLE WITH MENTAL HEALTH, MYSELF INCLUDED.

20 Hours of Silence for Youth Mental Health.

I’m back for the second time to take on the 20 Hours for 20Talk Challenge & I am so excited! Last year I went out of my comfort zone.. I sat by myself in a 2×2 metre square in a warehouse, alongside 400 other participants, with NO talking and NO technology for 20 hours. When I tell you it was one of the most wholesome empowering experiences I have done for myself, I mean it. All I’m going to have with me are the essentials; a chair, sleeping mat, journal, water, and food. No distractions. No way to doom scroll. No outside noise. Just me myself & I. 

This challenge is a small glimpse into the isolation and struggle that so many of us with mental health challenges feel every day. I already know what to expect but this year my mind is different, my heart is different and me as a person; I am different.

It will be tough - physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally - but I’m ready to take the challenge again, to stand in solidarity with those navigating these experiences & to remember that I am someone who has struggled with the depths of my mental health. 💖

So why am I doing this?

After doing the 20hour challenge for the first time last year I knew I wanted to do it again if it ever came back to Melbourne, and here we are! The love I felt afterwards in that room full of so many people was almost an indescribable feeling of wholeness. I’d really love the oppurtunity to attend this experience again & to help raise money for the cause.
