20 Hours of Silence for Youth Mental Health.
Hi, I'm Eden.
I have decided to join the 20 Hours for 20talk challenge for two reasons:
1. To learn more about mental health across both Australia & NZ and share statistics and resources openly and regularly with those around me. I believe that talking more openly about mental health can help reduce some stigma.
2. For my own personal development. I think this is an unreal opportunity to push myself to be involved in the community and do something challenging for myself. I believe it will be life changing.
I have had many periods of bad mental health since I was a teenager and while I do feel I am in a very good space now, this has come from regular care and maintenance. I actively go to counselling to work through situations to ensure that I am solving issues at the root cause to make sure that I can be the best version of myself, for myself and others. I am privileged to be able to access counselling and there are plenty of others who cannot access help like this for many different reasons - which is another reason why I want to do my best at raising funds and awareness.
