Redefining resilience

Resilience - the ability to adapt, recover, to re-emerge from adversity, trauma, tragedy and significant stress. The capacity to navigate tough times, learn from them, and continue to move forward.

Words are easy, actions speak louder.

How can we act?

Life can be a challenging place to be, with no way out and no way in and no support in sight at all. On the outside we can pretend everything’s fine but on the inside we are clawing at the walls trying to get out.

For some it’s all too much, the only thing left…

To die alone, so far from home.

This cause l am supporting by participating in this challenge and the money l raise will help fund programs to help people before that point arrives, providing them with the tools to steer themselves out of the dark and into the light.

I take my hat off to these two fine souls who started 20talk as they strive to reach those who are suffering with their mental health, to train people to help build them the bridges for them to cross, to reach out to those who need it most, to reach the ones who are close to giving up and feel they have nowhere to go, to raise awareness in our communities to look out for each other, to keep listening out, to keep checking in.

To remind us that we are social creatures, all together on this rock, hurtling through space and time.
