20Talk: Because 20H Can Change a Life
I’m taking part in the 20Talk Challenge — a simple but powerful idea.
Why 20Talk Matters
Mental health doesn’t always look the way we expect.
It’s not always visible.
It’s not always dramatic.
And it’s not always spoken about.
So many people carry heavy things quietly — stress, anxiety, burnout, depression, overwhelm. Especially parents. Especially carers. Especially people who are always “the strong one.”
And yet, what helps most often isn’t advice.
It isn’t fixing.
It isn’t pretending everything is fine.
It’s connection.
It’s someone saying:
“Hey… how are you really doing?”
The Power of 20 Minutes
Twenty minutes doesn’t sound like much.
But in 20 minutes you can:
Break isolation
Reduce shame
Create safety
Let someone feel seen
Remind someone they matter
A genuine conversation can interrupt spirals.
It can open doors to support.
It can quite literally save a life.
Why I’m Doing This
Mental health affects all of us — directly or indirectly.
We all know someone who has struggled.
Many of us have struggled ourselves.
Life is busy. We juggle work, family, responsibilities, expectations. And sometimes in the middle of all that, our emotional wellbeing quietly slips down the priority list.
This challenge is a reminder to pause.
To check in.
To make space.
Not just once — but 20 times.
How You Can Be Part of It
You don’t have to do anything big or dramatic.
You can:
Message a friend you haven’t heard from in a while
Ask your partner how they’re coping
Sit with someone without distractions
Share honestly about your own mental health
Donate to support mental health services
If you’d like to support my 20Talk challenge, you can donate here on my 30Talk page.
Every donation helps fund mental health support, awareness, and resources for people who need them most.
Let’s Normalize the Conversation
Talking about mental health shouldn’t feel uncomfortable or taboo.
It should feel human.
If 20 conversations can spark awareness, connection, and support — imagine what thousands could do.
Let’s talk.
Let’s listen.
Let’s show up for each other.
I’ll be giving 20H of my time to raise mental health awareness 🤍
