Doing What I Can to Help
In order to raise funds for mental health charity 20Talk, I'm going to take on the challenge of sitting in a 2 metre square box for 20 hours with no technology and no talking. This challenge will be a small look into the day of someone struggling with mental health. All I will have is my own thoughts, a journal and a chair to sit on.
So why am I doing this?
Growing up in the same area and being familiar with some of the same people that sadly took their own life that lead to the originaters of 20Talk creating the platform. I had always really admired and appreciated their work since their inception. They have not just raised awareness of mental health but helped to make it relatable to many people. Despite all their great work throughout WA the task of suicide prevention is unremitting and requires constant support. Unfortunately suicide still remains the leading cause of death between ages 15-44. After spending many years appreciating the work of 20Talk from afar I decided to take action. The 20 hours of silence in 2m box challenge is an avenue I felt that I can try complete to show my support.
