Keti is going Quiet for 20 Hours!
For anyone who knows me, choosing to spend 20 hours in complete silence probably sounds a little ridiculous!
My inner world is rarely quiet. Even when I'm relaxing, there's usually something happening in the background – a TV show, scrolling on my phone, chatting to someone, planning something, overthinking something, or disappearing down a random rabbit hole of curiosity.
That's exactly why I've chosen to take on the 20-Hour Challenge.
I'll be stepping away from all the noise – especially the noise I create myself.
No phone. No music. No conversations. No social media. No distractions. Just a small 2m x 2m space, a swag, journal and a chair.
I'll be spending 20 hours with nothing but my own thoughts for company. Which, if I'm honest, might be the loudest part of the whole experience.
I don't know what I'll discover, or whether I'll find it peaceful, frustrating, emotional, insightful, or all of the above.
What I do know is that I'm incredibly curious to find out what happens when I stop reaching for the next distraction and simply sit with the present moment.
There is also a more serious reason behind this challenge.
Mental health is a cause very close to my heart. Like many people, I've experienced my own struggles, supported loved ones through theirs, and witnessed the impact mental health challenges can have on families, friendships, workplaces, and entire communities.
That's why I'm proud to be raising funds for 20Talk and helping support the important work they do.
To participate, I need to raise a minimum of $1,000 before the event. Every donation, no matter the size, will help me reach that goal while supporting people who may be struggling and encouraging more conversations around mental health.
