Why?

Charity and giving back have always been a big part of who I am. Whether it’s offering spare change to someone at the traffic lights or using my voice for advocacy, I’ve consistently tried to show up as a kinder, better human.
I’ve lived with mental illness for much of my life, and I’ve been fortunate to have access to support, medical treatment, and resources that helped me through. That experience has made me deeply aware of the privilege many of us carry — privilege and access that millions of people simply don’t have.
As someone who studied journalism and has worked in podcasting and content creation, I’m a natural talker — the people closest to me will happily tell you they can’t get me to be quiet. So when I came across the opportunity to challenge myself to stay silent while raising funds and awareness for mental health, I knew it was a challenge I wanted to take on.
