Lets talk about what we don't talk about
I’m taking on a pretty uncomfortable challenge to raise funds for 20Talk, a mental health charity close to my heart.
I’ll be sitting in a 2-metre square box for 20 hours — no talking, no technology, just my thoughts, a journal and a chair. It’s a small glimpse into how isolating mental health struggles can feel.
So why do it?
Because mental health touches all of us. And the stats are still confronting:
-
Suicide remains the leading cause of death for people aged 15–44
-
Only 2% of mental health funding goes toward prevention.
I’m doing 20 Hours for 20Talk to spark real conversations — with your friends, your family, your neighbour, your colleague and the wider community. Let’s start talking, and more importantly, listening to the people around us.
The statistics are overwhelming, and from experience, I know just how isolating mental health struggles can be. By putting myself out there, I hope to open the door to conversations we often avoid — and remind people they’re not alone.
Your donation supports relatable, youth-led mental health education that makes prevention accessible, real and stigma-free.
Your generosity helps:
-
$120 = a full day Mental Health Maintenance course for a young person
-
Grow 20Talk’s online resources and 60,000+ strong community
-
Run large, interactive mental health events
By improving mental health literacy, we can stop people reaching crisis point in the first place.
Thank you so much for reading, donating, and supporting this cause. If this challenge helps even one person, it’s worth it.
And if you ever need a chat — I’m always here 🤍
xx Li
