Why am I doing this?
Kaya!I am doing this for many reasons. The most obvious reason, is because I want to support mental illness support, suicide prevention and community care.
Alongside this, I want to represent and stand in solidarity as a mentally ill person with multiple disorders, CPTSD and severe trauma. Not only to represent us who live in this reality, but also for my fellow Aboriginal/First Nations, Queer/Genderfluid and Disabled communities - who experience mental illness more than most demographics.
I also want to do this for personal reasons. To really sit with myself, to look inward, to listen and reflect, to heal in the quiet, without all the noise. I am intrigued to see what comes up for me, to see how it makes me feel, to take this opportunity to explore a new way of connecting to myself and carrying what I find onward into my journey.
If I can also benefit my fellow mentally ill and/or struggling with mental health humans, I see anything that comes from that as a win!
