For Meg, and all those fighting a similar battle.
For those who don’t know me, I’m Phoebe (the brunette in the picture above).
The beautiful, smiling blonde is my sister, Meg.
Meg passed away in 2015 from suicide. She was just 19.
She had been battling clinical depression since she was 14, during a time when mental health was still widely misunderstood, underfunded, and underestimated.
Meg was kind, gentle, and deeply compassionate. She always wanted to protect people, animals — even something as small as a dandelion in the grass.
I try to live my life with even a fraction of the spirit she had.
On September 6th, I’ll be taking part in 20 Hours for 20TALK — a challenge where I’ll sit in a 2x2 metre square for 20 hours. No phone, no books, no distractions. Just me and my thoughts.
Anyone who knows me knows I’m a chronic yapper, so this is definitely going to push me. I’m honestly quite scared — but it feels important to do something uncomfortable for a cause that means so much to me.
