Where to start...

I've always had a busy mind, getting in trouble for being impulsive, questioning and not "knowing my place". I've had 3 family members take their own lives and countless more friends and family struggle through mental health challenges. I think that's why I started RCOT, I needed a place that I fit in, where staff could be themselves, and where the true focus was the kids, families and not profit. When I started studying OT, I always knew I'd end up in paediatrics or mental health, and with RCOT I have been able to do both.

Teaming up with 20Talk for the 20 hour challenge just seemed like a good fit. It's 20 hours for me to actually sit with my brain, my thoughts, because more often than not, I am distracted, focused on another admin task, planning for the future, thinking about what could have been done better. This challenge will make me stop. It will be hard and confronting no doubt, but I am hoping it will be a good start in putting my mental health first for a change.
