20 Hours of silence to support Youth Mental Health.

I’m taking on the 20 Hours for 20Talk Challenge which will see me sitting in a 2×2 metre square in a warehouse, alongside 400 other participants, with no talking and no technology for 20 hours. All I’ll have are the essentials I bring with me: a chair, sleeping mat, journal, water, and food. No distractions.

Mental health affects so many of us in some way. Whether it's through our own experiences or those of someone we love, it's a reminder that no one should ever have to face life's challenges alone.

This challenge is a small glimpse into the isolation and struggle that someone with mental health challenges might feel every day. It will be tough - physically, mentally, and emotionally - but it’s a challenge I’m taking on to stand in solidarity with those navigating these experiences.

After relocating to a new country & finding my feet, I see this as an opportunity to give back to my new community, continue my own growth, and hopefully inspire others to recognise the importance of looking after their mental wellbeing. I also feel that this is a chance to reconnect with myself and to make new connections with others. Technology has become such a large part of our everyday life. To completely remove it and share communication in silence is going to be a very powerful experience that I am really excited to be a part of.
