THE CHALLENGE:
On the 28th of March, ill be sitting on a warehouse floor, in a 2 metre square box for 20 hours with no technology, no clocks, no distractions and no talking. All I will have is my own thoughts, a journal and a chair to sit on.
This challenge will be a small look into the day of someone struggling with mental health.
WHY?
For me, this challenge is personal. Someone close to me recently lost a family member over the Christmas break, and my own family have gone through the same heartbreak in the past. These experiences stay with you. They change how you see and experience these type of events, which constantly remind you how we need better support, education and understanding to lead to prevention.
unfortunately, the statistics are still alarming..
- Suicide still remains the leading cause of death for young people aged 15-44.
- Only 2% of mental health funding goes towards prevention (Mental Health Commission 2022)
I'm completing the 20 Hours for 20Talk to turn these statistics around.
DONATE?
Your contribution goes towards 20Talk's relatable prevention campaigns. They are a mental health charity that makes education cool and accessible, for young people by young people.
Your generous donations go towards:
- Every $120 puts one young person through a one day Mental Health Maintenance course
- Running large-scale interactive mental health events
By improving mental health literacy, removing harmful stigma, and encouraging professional help-seeking we are preventing people from getting people into crisis in the first place.

A worthy cause. Technology is meant to be making our lives better, but certainly our youth do not seem happier for it. That this fund-raiser makes people pause to reflect on the link between increasing time spent on technology and decline in mental health is a wonderful thing.
