20 Hours for 20Talk
20 Hours of Silence For Everyone Who’s Ever Struggled
We’ve all struggled with mental health at some point in our lives or we know someone who has.
It might be anxiety, depression, burnout, grief, trauma, or simply feeling overwhelmed and not knowing how to cope.
Mental health doesn’t discriminate.
It touches our families, our friendships, our children, our partners, our workplaces and ourselves.
After seeing how mental health can impact families and relationships this cause feels close to my heart.
That’s why I’m taking part in 20 Hours for 20Talk.
For 20 hours, I will sit in complete silence, no phone, no talking, no distractions, just me, my thoughts and a journal.
It sounds simple, but it’s powerful. For many people, silence isn’t peaceful, it’s where the hardest battles are fought.
This challenge is about recognising that isolation, creating space for reflection and raising awareness and vital funds for youth mental health support.
The funds raised go directly to 20Talk, an organisation dedicated to changing the narrative around mental health.
They focus on prevention, education, and equipping young people with the tools they need to thrive, not just survive.
Through school programs, community initiatives and Mental Health Maintenance scholarships, they provide practical skills, coping strategies, and support systems that help young Australians build resilience before they reach crisis point.
Only a small percentage of mental health funding goes toward prevention, yet prevention is where we can make the biggest long term difference.
I’m doing this to raise funds for those who are struggling silently, for those who feel unseen and for the next generation who deserve stronger support, better education, and real tools to manage their mental wellbeing.
If you’re able to donate, even a small amount makes a difference. And if you can’t, sharing this page helps spread awareness, which matters just as much 🙏🏽
Let’s normalise talking about mental health.
Let’s remove the stigma.
Let’s support prevention, not just crisis response.
Because no one should have to sit in silence alone 🙏🏽🤍
I’m taking on a 20-hour challenge of complete silence. No talking. No phone. No distractions. Just stillness, presence, and a journal. Silence isn’t easy — especially in a world that never stops making noise. This challenge is about stepping out of the c
In order to raise funds for mental health charity 20Talk
I’m taking on the challenge of sitting in a 2 metre square box for 20 hours with no talking, no phone and no technology.
Just my thoughts, a journal and a chair.
This challenge is a small glimpse into what a day can feel like for someone struggling with their mental health isolating, confronting and heavy.
Mental health affects all of us in some way. Suicide remains the leading cause of death for Australians aged 15–44, and only 2% of mental health funding goes towards prevention.
These statistics are still alarming, and that’s why I’m choosing to step outside my comfort zone to raise awareness and funds.
I’m completing 20 Hours for 20Talk to help turn these numbers around.
20Talk is a youth-led mental health charity focused on making prevention education relatable, accessible and stigma free.
Donations go towards putting young people through Mental Health Maintenance courses, expanding their online resources and community, and running large scale interactive mental health events.
By improving mental health literacy with encouraging and seeking early help.
With that we can prevent people earlier from reaching crisis point.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, please donate and share.
If this small challenge can help change even one life, it will be worth it.
And if you ever need someone to talk too, I’m always here 🙏🏽🤍

Starting it with myself because prevention, conversation and support matter more than ever! So I’m here to kick it off and get the word out there. If 20 hours of silence can spark one conversation or support one young person, it’s worth it. Supporting this cause because I’ve seen how mental health impacts families and relationships. Small steps create ripple effects! Proud to be supporting this cause 🙏🏽
